Uganda

VWB/VSF-Canada is supporting a project led by Dr. Jerry Haigh, a wildlife veterinarian, to examine the complex issues involved in the human x livestock x wildlife interface in Uganda. For the past 7 years, Dr. Haigh has been has been taking students from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan, to Uganda to share in some of his veterinary perspectives. The rotation has been called the African Wildlife Experience, but it is much more than that. While wildlife work remains a core part of the month-long working trip, the link with local schools has been a vital and growing element.
