Ikamaperu is a wildlife sanctuary in the Alto Mayo valley of Peru focused on the preservation of animals and their environments, with a special focus on monkeys. With support from VWB/VSF, three students from the Université de Montréal, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FMV) will be traveling deep into the Amazon rainforest (ten hours by boat from Iquitos) to the Alto Mayo valley to help assess the animal and public health needs of the sanctuary. Working alongside the staff veterinarian, the students will also help build stronger links between Ikamaperu and St-Hyacinthe Veterinary College.
