SUBMITTING A PROJECT PROPOSAL

VWB/VSF – Canada works together with overseas and North American partners to develop projects, and although we are not currently accepting unsolicited proposals, collaborative work ideas are always welcome.

 

All projects are assessed on the following criteria:

• 1. Project falls within the realm of veterinary medicine including veterinary public health and ecosystem health. (Project involves livestock, urban wild or domestic animals, or wildlife in terrestrial or aquatic habitats).

 

• 2. Project maintains our commitment to the least advantaged communities.

 

 3. VWB-VSF-Canada volunteers are invited or welcomed into the communities. Project is a response to needs that are locally identified and supported.

 

4. Project will partner with existing organizations.

 

5. Project has greater likelihood of success with the addition of VWB/VSF-Canada involvement.

 

6. Project will be collaborative with local communities and/or host countries and will engage people where they live so we can collectively help to improve the quality of life in a sustainable manner.

 

7. Project will find sustainable solutions; that is, it will be self-sustaining beyond VWB involvement.

 

8. Project will respect people, the local environment, culture, laws, human rights, tradition and animal welfare.

 

9. Project will operate transparently and openly address lessons learned.

 

10. Local partners have democracy, transparency and accountability in both financial and organizational activities.
