This winter, VWB/VSF is supporting a project initiated by Dr. Aboubakar Mounchili and the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) to work collectively with the newly founded Cameroon Veterinary School in Ngaoundéré, Cameroon on curriculum development. As one of the only French veterinary universities in the region, the challenge for the Cameroon Veterinary School, Dr. Mounchili and partners will be to develop curricula for the new university that addresses both local needs as well as those of neighbouring French-speaking countries including Chad, Central Africa Republic, Gabon, and Congo. While in Cameroon on a preliminary fact gathering trip this January, Dr. Mounchili met with the school’s director and local stakeholders to map out a long term plan that also includes improving the school’s library, and a student/teacher exchange program between the Cameroon Veterinary School and AVC.
